Thanksgiving 2010, part 1

Chase's preschool had a Thanksgiving feast this past Monday, and Laura and I volunteered in our capacity as homeroom moms to help out. And I'm so glad we did! The kids were absolutely adorable -- wearing turkey headdresses they'd crafted themselves from paper and feathers, and brightly painted smocks made out of pillow cases. They enjoyed a "pilgrim" who taught them all about the Mayflower and John Smith and Squanto, and they even got to pet a real, live turkey. Then they sat down for a huge Thanksgiving style feast, preschool style -- chicken nuggets, stuffing, pumpkin bread (made by Chase's class), and juice boxes. They kids seemed to have a fun time and it was cute to see them in their homemade (schoolmade?) outfits.

This was the world's bravest, most patient turkey. Chase was still mildly terrified of him.

Chase and Sammie - just like the pilgrims from olden times
